Who Flushed Griffin Before CNN Explains Everything Wrong With MSM

What culture is CNN standing by?

Following Kathy Griffin’s grotesque photo of herself holding a faux bloody decapitated head of President Donald Trump, one company swiftly severed ties with the comedian, while major news outlet CNN took its sweet time.

Squatty Potty — a toilet accessories company — announced that it was suspending an advertisement campaign that featured Griffin, citing her inappropriate photo as contrary to its core values.

CNN, which has featured Griffin in its annual New Year’s Eve coverage every year since 2007, followed suit later, but only after “reviewing” the situation — as if there was any question as to what the comedian’s message was in holding Trump’s bloody head.

Squatty Potty CEO Bobby Edwards noted that his company made the decision to suspend its relationship with Griffin “swiftly and decisively.”

“We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared today, it was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for. In response, Squatty Potty has suspended its ad campaign featuring Ms. Griffin. We have acted swiftly and decisively to demonstrate our commitment to a culture of decency, civility, and tolerance,” Edwards explained in a statement.

In comparison, CNN’s first statement about Griffin’s grotesque and arguably treasonous photograph did not “swiftly” or “decisively” cut ties with the comedian. Unlike Edwards, the executives at CNN apparently needed a day to mull over whether or not Griffin was in compliance with their own culture — one of the mainstream media’s biggest news outlets.

On Tuesday, CNN issued a statement calling the photograph “disgusting and offensive,” noting that it was “reviewing” its relationship with Griffin.

“We found what she did disgusting and offensive,” the news outlet said in a statement Tuesday, according to Mediaite. “We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down. We are evaluating our New Year’s Eve coverage and have made no decisions at this point.”

It wasn’t until Wednesday afternoon that the network officially terminated its agreement with the comedian to appear on its New Year’s Eve program.

The executives at CNN should be embarrassed that a toilet company obviously has a more stringent commitment to decency than they do.

To make matters worse, Squatty Potty wasn’t the only business to beat CNN to the punch, as the Route 66 Casino Hotel in New Mexico also canceled a scheduled July performance by Griffin roughly 20 hours before the major news network.

It’s even more sad when you realize that these small companies actually lost money by standing by their values — something they obviously didn’t even have to think twice about.

Meanwhile, I can’t imagine that CNN will lose any viewers or funds for its New Year’s Eve show by not having Griffin host it. Yet, the network took its sweet time in deciding that Griffin’s values were not in line with theirs.
