Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said the appointment of special counsel to lead the FBI’s investigation into whether there was any collusion between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia was a “gift” for Trump.
Huckabee appeared on Fox News’ “Outnumbered” Friday and said the investigation freed Trump from addressing the issue. Trump can now refuse to answer questions because of the probe and focus on more important matters, such as his trip overseas.
“There isn’t any evidence of collusion yet,” Huckabee said. “Frankly, I think the president just needs to drop this because, until somebody comes up with evidence, there’s really not a lot to talk about.”
He went on to say that Trump “needs to be the happy warrior” and show that the investigation is “not getting to him.”
Huckabee added that it would be a good idea for Trump should forget about the media and talk to Americans about the issues that concern them, such as cutting taxes.
“Don’t talk about what’s happening to you because people don’t care,” the former governor said. “Talk about what’s happening to them … Because the system has been unfair with a lot of Americans. They identify with that. Speak to that, and forget about the press, because they’re never going to treat you any better.”

It also doesn’t appear that the mainstream media is going to treat Trump any better. They will continue to attack him and will use whatever means they can find — up to and including making stuff up — to do so.
