We have to fight this!
As part of an effort to be more “transgender-friendly,” the U.S. Army has instructed women soldiers that they need to accept gender-confused, biological men in their showers, bathrooms and barracks.
The controversial policy, which aimed to build “dignity and respect” for “transgender soldiers,” was conceived under former President Barack Obama and has been gaining ground in the Armed Services, according to LifeSite News.
In fact, in training materials issued in September 2016, the Army issued guidelines on how to deal with transgender soldiers.
In “Vignette 4” of an Army’s PowerPoint guidance, titled, “Policy on the Military Service of Transgender Soldiers Training Module, Tier 3: Units and Soldiers,” it states the following regarding a hypothetical “transgender Soldier” who is “transitioning” to a new “gender”:
“Following her transition from male to female (which did not include sex reassignment surgery) and gender marker change in DEERS [the Army’s personnel system – Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System], a transgender Soldier begins using female barracks, bathroom, and shower facilities. Because she did not undergo a surgical change, the Soldier still has male genitalia.”
What does the Army suggest female soldiers do in response?
“Understand that you may encounter individuals in barracks, bathrooms, or shower facilities with physical characteristics of the opposite sex despite having the same gender marker in DEERS,” the training material explained.
“All Soldiers should be respectful of the privacy and modesty concerns of others. However, transgender Soldiers are not required or expected to modify or adjust their behavior based on the fact that they do not ‘match’ other Soldiers,” it continued.
Since when does the U.S. military not require its service members to conform to its standards? (See: uniform, appearance, behavior, etc.)
James Hasson, a former Army captain and Afghanistan war veteran, pointed out as much in an article for The Federalist.
“The military is normally in the business of telling soldiers to ‘modify or adjust their behavior’ all the time,” he wrote.
Never mind the fact that being in the military can already be stressful. Women soldiers don’t need the added worry that a man (because if you have male genitalia, you are a man) is watching them undress or shower. Just like male soldiers shouldn’t have to be worried about a female watching them in private places.
“Consider what these policies mean in real life: Most Army showers look like a prison cell with several showerheads on the wall,” Hasson explained.
“Anyone who has dealt with the practical challenges of funneling 30 people through them in ten minutes understands that ‘privacy’ will be incompatible with reality,” he continued.
Of course, liberals aren’t concerned with how this policy may affect the other soldiers in the barracks, as long as the small number of those who are confused about their gender feel comfortable.
Social conservatives have been mounting a counteroffensive to ditch the “trans” program altogether.
In June, Defense Secretary James Mattis agreed to postpone full implementation of the Obama “transgender” policy for six months, according to the Associated Press. It was supposed to go into effect on July 1.
