What the fresh hell is this mess?
Earlier this afternoon, Anthony “the Mooch” Scaramucci announced he had accepted an offer from President Trump’s to become the next White House Communications Director.
This was the third position Scaramucci had been offered in the Trump administration. In fact, The Mooch was previously set to become Director of the White House’s Office of Public Engagement before critics within the White House blocked him from that position.
Why? Well, there’s this:
Before joining Trump’s campaign, Scaramucci said during a 2015 Fox Business appearance that Trump, as a candidate, was “another hack politician.”
“Probably going to make Elizabeth Warren his vice-presidential nominee,” he said, further dismissing Trump as someone who would become president of “the Queens County Bully Association.”
To be honest, I can forgive that – hey, it was an election year – but the addition of the Mooch brought with it a major shakeup.
The New York Times reports:
Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, resigned on Friday after denouncing chaos in the West Wing and telling President Trump he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of the New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.
Mr. Spicer told Mr. Trump that he believed the appointment of Mr. Scaramucci was a major mistake and said he was resigning, according to a person with direct knowledge of the exchange.
Agreed, but here’s why: my biggest criticism of the slick-talking investment veteran is his outspoken view on guns.
@NickKristof Clinging to guns and religion didn't stick, but this will due to media bias

We (the USA) has 5% of the world’s population but 50% of the world’s guns. Enough is enough. It is just common sense it apply more controls

@Scaramucci I am sure the number of guns in the US directly correlates to the amount of freedom we enjoy. Hence, the Second Amendment.

That kinda tells us all we need to know, doesn’t it?
Let’s hope the NRA and/or Trump’s Gun Advisory Group (what ever happened to them?!) will keep The Mooch in check.
