Who thinks this is a good idea?
A Florida man was recovering from being bitten by a rattlesnake after he allegedly tried to kiss it.
Ron Reinold happened to be one of several people playing around with the snake after Charles Goff said he found the snake Monday night. Goff, who has experience with snakes, told WJAX that he put the reptile in a tank after he found it.
When he woke up on Tuesday, he saw people were actually trying to play with the snake.
“The next morning before I got up, they were playing with the snake,” Goff told the station. “One boy said, ‘I’m going to kiss it in the mouth,’ and the snake bit him in the face,” Goff said, according to WJAX.
Goff said Reinold and another man were being irresponsible. No kidding.
“Ron was just acting silly, you know?” he said. “I guess he said he could kiss the devil and get away with it, but evidently he didn’t.”
No, he did not. In fact, Reinold was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. His family said he was doing better on Wednesday and was expected to survive.
Goff said he thought that the rattlesnake was let go after it bit Reinold.
“So the snake is still out here running around somewhere,” he added.
That’s not good news to residents.
However, it is good news that Reinhold is expected to make a full recovery.
Snakes, especially the poisonous kind, are no joke and certainly nothing to play around with. Reinhold is incredibly lucky that the bite didn’t kill him.
Hopefully, he learned his lesson and won’t try to handle, much less kiss, any snakes in the future.
