Dem Senator Takes Sick Stand for Kathy Griffin… “I Think She…”

Actually, IT IS a big deal.

While Minnesota Sen. Al Franken admitted Wednesday that comedian Kathy Griffin made a “horrible mistake” by sharing a photo of herself holding up a fake, decapitated head of President Donald Trump, he stopped short of actually condemning her.

“(E)verybody thinks that she went too far,” he told CNN host Alisyn Camerota. “I did, too. I really think saying — you know, I — Kathy is a friend and she’s a terrific comedian, but this had no business being in our public discourse.”

When the host then asked the senator whether Griffin can recover from this faux pas, he went so far as to praise her for allegedly doing “the right thing” by issuing an apology.

“Well, I think she did the right thing,” he began. “I think asking for forgiveness and acknowledging that this was — this was a horrible mistake. And, so, I think she can.”

He also revealed that he would still be appearing with her for an event next month to discuss his upcoming new book.

What he neglected to mention was that the so-called “apology” issued by Griffin was phonier than a birth certificate for the Abominable Snowman.

Watch the apology below, and keep a lookout for Griffin rolling her eyes multiple times.

Moreover, the comedian has yet to issue a direct apology to either the president or his family.

In a tweet published Wednesday morning, a day after Griffin shared her photo, the president revealed that his 11-year-old son, Barron, was “having a hard time with this.”

A TMZ exclusive posted that same morning claimed via unnamed sources that the boy panicked when he saw the image while watching television, believing it to be the actual head of his father.

This woman can’t even issue a sincere apology to the world, let alone to Trump and his family, and yet Franken believes “she did the right thing.”

What’s clear is that not only does she not deserve to be a comedian, but he in turn doesn’t deserve to be a senator — certainly not with judgment this atrociously bad.
