2000’s Pop Superstar Reemerges After Unrecognizable Mug Shot

A pop singer from the 2000s has reemerged after an unrecognizable mug shut went viral, proving that fame and fortune are not all they are cracked up to be.

Singer and performer Aaron Carter, 29, was arrested on Saturday night on a Georgia highway after a motorist called 911 to report a vehicle “driving all over the road,” according to the The Associated Press.

Police also arrested Carter’s girlfriend, Madison Parker, who was also in the car, according to the AP.

The arrest reportedly occurred in Cornelia, which is about 75 miles from Atlanta. Carter was reportedly headed to Kansas City, Missouri for a performance.

Habersham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Floyd Canup told the AP that a deputy spotted Carter driving the vehicle as he turned into the parking lot of a local auto parts store.

Carter was charged with driving under the influence, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

A mug shot taken after his arrest shows how far the 29-year-old has fallen since his days as a young pop star.

According to TMZ, the singer refused to submit to a breathalyzer test as well as a blood and urine test to determine if he was intoxicated.

Carter, who spent a month in rehab in 2011, also said that he wasn’t behind the wheel of the car and that he planned to sue Habersham County police because they had no right to arrest him.

In a statement released on Twitter on Sunday, he said he felt his “celebrity” was targeted when deputies arrested him.

The singer was released on bail Sunday.

Below is a video of Carter just last week saying he would never get any DUIs after being asked about Shia LeBeouf’s recent arrest.

Apparently, those are famous last words — for Carter anyway.
